This policy explains the cookies and similar storage Crossroad uses, and how to control them. We keep it to the minimum: a couple of strictly-necessary cookies that are always on, and optional analytics that only run if you allow them. Nothing non-essential is set until you consent, and you can change your mind at any time.

Strictly necessary — always on

These are required for the service to work and cannot be switched off. They are not used for tracking.

pi_session (app only) — keeps you signed in. Set only after you sign in; scoped to app.joincrossroad.com; expires after 30 days.
cr_consent — remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again. Scoped to .joincrossroad.com so your choice is shared between the website and the app; expires after about 180 days. Contains only your choice (e.g. analytics on/off), a version number and a timestamp — no personal data.

Analytics — optional, off by default

With your consent, we use analytics to understand how the website and app are used (for example, which features are useful), so we can improve the product. This is off unless you opt in, you can reject it outright, and you can withdraw at any time — rejecting is as easy as accepting.

In the web app, allowing analytics loads PostHog (EU region — data stored in the EU) to measure product usage: pages viewed, features used, and retention. It stores a first-party identifier for your browser (ph_* cookies / local storage); session recording is off, page content is not captured, and the library is served from our own domain. It runs only if you opt in, never in the browser extension, and withdrawing stops it and clears its data. The marketing website may add its own analytics under this same choice, named here when enabled.

Managing your choice

Use the banner shown on your first visit: Accept, Reject, or Preferences to choose per category.
Change it any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer of these pages and the website, or in the app under Workspace → Your data & account.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; strictly-necessary cookies may then be re-created as needed for the service to function.
